The Church Session

The Presbyterian Church literally means a "church of elders." Holy Trinity is ruled by a council known as the "Session." Its members are ordained Ruling Elders (serving 2 year terms) as well as the Pastor of the Church (Teaching Elder). They are the ones who make all of the decisions ranging from property matters to when worship is held to employment of the staff. The Pastor essentially has oversight of only worship (hence the term, Teaching Elder).
